Two Presentations Added to MEGA Heart Expo

February is MEGA Heart Month at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ), 7050 Gall Blvd., and two presentations have been added to the event schedule.

“Hands On CPR; the Basics” will be offered from 1 pm to 2 pm on Friday, February 16. Attendees will watch Joe Kennard, RN, MBA, the hospital’s Director of Inpatient Cardiology, perform CPR on an anatomical model. Kennard will demonstrate this technique several times while he explains each step and answers questions. Then, attendees can practice CPR on one of the anatomical models that have been placed on tables throughout the classroom. CPR can save someone’s life in the minutes before first responders arrive. This class does not offer CPR credentialing.

Deb Moore, RN, FHZ’s Director of Inpatient Cardiology, will present the “In’s and Out’s” of Interventional Cardiology” from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Wednesday, February 21. Moore will discuss the types of diagnostic tests that can be performed to determine if one has a heart condition, how these tests are performed, and what happens during a cardiac catherization.

Both programs will be held in FHZ’s Cypress Room and are by registration only by calling (877) 534-3108.

For a complete list of MEGA Heart Month offerings, visits or call FHZ’s marketing department at (813) 783-6192.
