The community is invited to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from 7 am to 8 am on Sunday, April 1, at the annual Easter Sunrise Service hosted by Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ) and the Zephyrhills-Wesley Chapel Ministerial Association (ZWCMA). The service will take place on the hospital’s front lawn at 7050 Gall Blvd., Zephyrhills, rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket as limited seating is available.
Highlights of the service include worship music by The Sound which is comprised of the Mills family, a group of talented musicians who split their time between living in Zephyrhills, Florida and Michigan. The Sound performed in 2017 and are back because of the great performance they gave, according to Jane Freeman, FHZ’s Community Relations Manager. The Reverend Jim Thomas from the First United Methodist Church will deliver a special Easter message and there will be a dove release at the program’s conclusion. An offering will be collected to benefit the ZWCMA and the Samaritan Project of Zephyrhills. Complimentary refreshments will be provided for guests.
Additionally, the ZWCMA has organized its traditional Good Friday Walk of the Cross on Friday, March 30. The walk begins at 5:30 pm outside of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 5316 11th St., Zephyrhills. Those who participate will take a pilgrimage with a cross through the streets of Zephyrhills marking the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Along the way, there will be seven stops at local churches to reflect on the last Seven Sayings of Christ on the Cross. The evening concludes about 6:45 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 38635 Fifth Ave., Zephyrhills.
Children are invited to both events and there is no need to register. Questions can be directed to FHZ’s Marketing Department at (813) 783-6192.
