Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Employees Shine

Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ) held its annual employee anniversary celebration on Wednesday, May 18, at Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club in San Antonio to recognize staff for years of service and announce the employee of the year. CEO Randy Surber and June Randall, administrative director for human resources, served as program emcees.

Emine Duncan, who works in environmental services and has been a FHZ employee since 2003, received the employee of the year award. Duncan, a Dade City resident, was selected from a pool of nine other employees for this honor. She was described by Randall as “someone who continually goes out of her way to help patients and nurses.” Duncan is also known for exemplifying the hospital’s mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ, Randall said. Her manager characterizes her as “compassionate, energetic, courteous and helpful.”
Klaus Melhourn, Kelley Sasser and Evelyn Williams received a standing ovation for 35 years of dedicated FHZ employment and Cleo Lazo and Debra Dungan were recognized for 30 and 25 years, respectively. Other staff were honored for 20, 15, 10 and five years of FHZ employment. More than 80 clinical and non-clinical staff representatives were honored at the banquet.
