Easter Sunrise Service at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills

Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ), in conjunction with the Zephyrhills-Wesley Chapel Ministerial Association (ZWCMA), will hold its annual Easter sunrise service for the community from 6:45 am to 7:45 am on Sunday, April 16, rain or shine on the hospital’s front lawn at 7050 Gall Blvd.

The Easter program changes every year but some traditions remain the same, according to Dennis Harmeson, ZWCMA president and pastor at Zephyrhills Wesleyan Church. “We will again take a collection for the Samaritan Project of Zephyrhills and the ZWCMA. There will also be a dove release at the service’s conclusion,” he said. “We’re excited that Rev. Nick Deford, lead pastor for the First Nazarene Church of Zephyrhills, will deliver an inspiring Easter message and other local clergy are involved including Doug Higgins, FHZ’s senior chaplain and Rev. Denise Lay, M.Div., lead pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Zephyrhills. “The Sound” has donated their time and talent to provide great music.”

“The Sound” is comprised of three male members of the Mills family who are based out of Michigan. The trio has traveled throughout the United States singing at churches and concert halls and seek to minister through music to every age group. They also have a large following on social media, Rev. Harmeson said.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided and there will be a couple hundred chairs for seating. However, guests may want to bring a lawn chair or blanket should seats already be taken, Rev. Harmeson suggested. Additionally, one can park in the hospital’s lot and walk to the service on the front lawn. There will be wheelchair ramp.
