Our History

A modest 70-bed hospital when it’s doors opened in 1985, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills has grown in only a short time to a 139-bed regional medical center. To this day, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is still the only hospital in Zephyrhills, Florida.
In 1982, Adventist Health System broke ground on a new hospital to serve Pasco County. Originally named East Pasco Medical Center (EPMC), when we opened our doors to serve patients in our local community. It wasn’t until 2006 that we changed our name to fit more closely to the Adventist Health System family in Florida: Florida Hospital.
Since 1985, our staff, expertise and facility have grown to fit the growing needs of our community.
Now, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills has developed from a hometown hospital to a distinguished regional medical center, providing cutting-edge care for our neighbors and community. We have been nationally recognized by the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association and HealthGrades for excellence in providing patient care with an emphasis on outcomes and safety.
Our facility now includes:
It's through these advanced services that we are able to provide care close to home for easier treatment, recovery and follow-up options.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re excited to see how we grow in the future to better serve our patients and community.
