Urogynecology

Recognizing that many urogynecologic conditions have very similar symptoms, specialists at Florida Hospital for Women – Winter Park use careful evaluation and diagnostic testing to determine the most approriate treatment for the best possible outcome. Our advanced treatment techniques, including minimally invasive, robotic and laparoscopic procedures, are applied to a wide range of conditions, such as:

  • Urinary Incontinence
  • Stress Urinary Incontinence (loss of urine with coughing, laughing, sneezing, lifting, or other activities
  • Urge Urinary Incontinence (loss of urine after a strong urge to urinate)
  • Urinary Urgency/Frequency
  • Overactive Bladder  (feeling a strong urge to urinate, frequent urination and even loss of urine with an urge to urinate)
  • Urinary Retention

Our individualized evaluations, performed by a fellowship-trained specialist, determine the most appropriate (and least invasive) treatment options. If the gynecologic or pelvic disorder is complex enough to require a surgical procedure, the medical team at the Florida Hospital for Women – Winter Park can perform the following:

  • Complex multichannel urodynamic procedures
  • Cystourethroscopy
  • Vaginoscopy
  • Transurethral bulking injections
  • Botox bladder injections
  • InterStim Neuromodulation therapy to treat refractory urinary urgency, frequency, urinary retention, and fecal incontinence
  • Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS)  to treat overactive bladder disease
  • Pessary fitting/management
  • Minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgical procedures to treat prolapse
  • Vaginal (native tissue and interpositional vaginal graft/mesh) and open abdominal approaches to treat prolapse
