Biographical Sketch for Steven D. McCarus, MD
Dr. McCarus is Chief Surgeon, Division of Gynecologic Surgery and Director, Center for Specialized Gynecology at Florida Hospital Celebration Health, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Central Florida, College of Medicine and provides advanced gynecologic services at the Center for Specialized Gynecology. He is nationally known as a pioneer in minimally-invasive hysterectomies, creating the McCarus Hysterectomy Technique that uses ultrasonic harmonic energy to perform hysterectomies via a tiny hole in the abdomen. He has traveled the country teaching endoscopic procedures to other doctors, performing operations in more than 400 hospitals worldwide. Additional specialties include uterine uplift for pain, pelvic-organ prolapse disorders, urinary incontinence, endometriosis, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids and infertility evaluations.
