Sports Medicine…Not Just for Athletes

Whether you participate in sports or exercise- or have an injury or chronic condition, we’ll provide comprehensive care to get you back to your everyday activities. Our Sports Medicine and Performance program provides a full range of non-invasive treatments for injuries and chronic conditions whether it be through injections, physical therapy or bracing. Our medical staff features a team of board-certified orthopedic surgeons should surgery be necessary.

For athletes, we have special programs to prevent injury and improve conditioning, flexibility and strength to enhance sports performance. The following Sports Medicine services are available:

Sports Performance Lab

A comprehensive program to identify and correct dysfunctional movement that impedes maximum sports performance and increases the risk of acute and overuse injuries, like ACL tears, shin splints, tendonitis, elbow pain, shoulder pain and ankle injuries.  Learn more about the sports performance lab.

Health & Wellness Center

Our 50,000-square-foot Health and Wellness Center features state-of-the-art fitness facilities including a 25-meter lap pool and warm water therapy pool, an indoor cushioned track, over 90 group fitness classes a week, personal training, sports massage and saunas in each locker room.  The center also provides a variety of wellness programs for athletes and patients. It’s convenient, expert medical care close to home.

Athletic Trainers

Florida Hospital provides athletic trainers for the Tampa Bay Storm, Florida Hospital Center Ice (opening in fall of 2016) and 15 area high schools as well as coverage for Pasco County middle school football games and a variety of sports tournaments and events.
