Meet Your Child’s Physicians
The team at Florida Hospital Waterman includes pediatric hospitalists specializing in treatment of children in the hospital. Hospitalists are available 24-hours a day, seven-days a week at Florida Hospital Waterman. Plus, through our partnership with Florida Hospital for Children, consulting specialists are easily accessible to help assist in the comprehensive, coordinated care of your child.
Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. The hospitalist will coordinate your child’s care in conjunction with his or her pediatrician and any specialists that may need to be completed.
Sherryl G. Gordon, MD, FAAP is a pediatric hospitalist at Lake Hospital Associates who specializes in the care of hospitalized pediatric patients. She provides services such as newborn exams, sick child in-patient visits, emergency room visits and hospital consults. Dr. Gordon is committed to delivering high quality service and always provides prompt communication with the patient’s pediatrician. Residencies: Pediatrics, Howard Hospital, Washington, D.C. Pediatrics, University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville, FL.
Monica Guirguis, DO is board certified in pediatrics and serves as a pediatric hospitalist with Lake Hospital Associates. She specializes in the care of pediatric patients hospitalized at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares. As a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Guirguis provides services such as newborn exams, sick child in-patient visits, emergency room consults and hospital consults. She is committed to delivering high quality care and always provides prompt communication with the patient’s pediatrician. Fluent in English, Spanish and Arabic. Residency: Pediatrics, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, MI.
Specialized Imaging Services
Imaging services performed at Florida Hospital Waterman and at the Florida Hospital Waterman Center for Medical Imaging outpatient center are evaluated and interpreted by radiologists specializing in pediatrics.
