Florida Hospital Waterman Goes Red for Heart Month

TAVARES, Fla. (January 20, 2014) - In recognition of heart month, Florida Hospital Waterman will host a series of heart healthy events throughout the month of February. To symbolize their continued dedication to improving the heart health of Lake County, the outside canopy will “Go-Red” and glow for the entirety of the month.  On Friday, January 31 Florida Hospital Waterman will host a kickoff event, its first Women’s Hot Topic Breakfast. Women across the county are invited to join Gary S. Allen, MD, FACS, board certified cardiothoracic surgeon, and a panel of women’s health experts to discuss a variety of women’s health topics, with a special focus on heart health.

“Heart disease affects every 1 in 3 women,” Dr. Allen said. “This event will help to educate and inform women about the health and lifestyle information they need to keep themselves and their family’s heart healthy.”
