The executive team at Florida Hospital Waterman is committed to ensuring that our hospital provides our Lake County neighbors with only the best health care available in a compassionate, patient-center environment. Meet the leaders of Florida Hospital Waterman below. 

Executive Team

David Ottati, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr.Ottati joined Florida Hospital Waterman as the President and Chief Executive Officer from sister hospital Florida Hospital Flagler in Flagler Beach, Florida, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer for more than seven years. During his time at Florida Hospital Flagler, David oversaw the construction of a 34,000 square foot outpatient center and helped to add more than 300 new jobs to the local economy. Prior to joining Florida Hospital Flagler, David worked at Florida Hospital Lake Placid and Florida Hospital Orlando.  David has been with Adventist Health Systems for more than 15 years.  David attained a double major in Finance and Accounting and he received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Abel Biri, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Biri has been with Adventist Health System and Florida Hospital since 1996. Prior to Florida Hospital Waterman, he served as the Assistant Vice President of the Florida Hospital Transplant Institute and Center for Interventional Endoscopy/ Digestive Health Center in Orlando. Prior to that appointment, he served as the Administrative Director of Ambulatory Surgery and Outpatient Services Abel brings nearly 20 years of healthcare experience to Florida Hospital Waterman with a strong focus on outpatient services. Before joining Florida Hospital, Abel worked for Lakeland Regional Health System in St. Joseph, Michigan. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Frances H. Crunk, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Crunk was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Florida Hospital Waterman in January 2007. Prior to coming to Florida Hospital Waterman she worked at Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC), where she served as VP/CFO for eight years. Before that, she served as Senior Vice President for Finance at Boston Regional Medical Center, Stoneham, Mass.; Senior Vice President of Finance at Hanford Community Medical Center, Hanford, Calif.; and Controller at St. Helena Hospital, Deer Park, Calif. Altogether, Ms. Crunk has 31 years of hospital work experience. She was a national board member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association from 2003–2006. Ms. Crunk received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Pacific Union College in 1977.   

Patricia Dolan, RN, BSN, MS, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Ms. Dolan joined Florida Hospital Waterman in October 2010. She came to our hospital from Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Ark., where she had served as Chief Nursing Officer for 7½ years. Previously, she was the Associate Administrator at Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline in Corpus Christi, Texas. Patricia is a member of the American Organization for Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives, and she served as the Chairman of the Baptist Health System Nursing Council for a five-hospital system in Little Rock, Ark. She has a diploma from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Memphis, Tenn., and she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science degrees from the University of Memphis.  

Vinay Mehindru, MD, MBA, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Mehindru joined Florida Hospital Waterman in September 2011. Prior to joining us he worked as the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Wuesthoff Health System in Rockledge, Fla. Before that, he served as the Emergency Department chair of two hospitals in Central Florida. He brings seven years of extensive experience, having worked as the founder/director of two hospitalist programs for Health First hospitals. Dr. Mehindru is board certified in both Internal and Emergency Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Mehindru received his Healthcare Management MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.   

Anita J. Young, MBA, CFRE, Foundation President and Chief Development Officer

Ms. Young joined the Florida Hospital Waterman Foundation in 1988, after working in various healthcare-related capacities at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., and Methodist Healthcare Systems of Memphis, Tenn. She has served as the Foundation President and Chief Development Officer since 1996, and also is responsible for senior leadership oversight of the Florida Hospital Waterman Auxiliary and the Community Primary Health Clinic. She earned her MBA from the University of Central Florida and her Bachelor of Arts from East Carolina University. She has also held the national designation of Certified Fundraising Executive since 1997.
