Empowering the community’s youth, Florida Hospital Waterman will host Safe Sitter® to help teach teens better babysitting practices. Nationally approved and recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Safe Sitter course is designed to help boys and girls ages 11 through 14 learn the basics of safe babysitting. Six Safe Sitter Certified instructors will lead the two-day program, and teach students how to administer first aid, choking child rescue and CPR, and how to manage their own babysitting business.
There will be two Safe Sitter sessions, June 12-13 and June 26-27 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A graduation ceremony open to family and friends will conclude each of the two-day sessions. Program tuition is $75 per student, which includes snacks, CPR certification card, a Safe Sitter backpack, and other course-related materials.
Space is limited and registration is required. Contact the Florida Hospital Waterman Education Department at 352-253-3391 to register.
