Vulvar Cancer

Statistics of Vulvar Cancer

Statistics tells us that about 3,900 women in the United States are diagnosed with vulvar cancer each year; most of these women are over the age of 50, though increasingly, women over 40 are being diagnosed with this disease as well. The most common type of vulvar cancer is squamous cell carcinoma, which accounts for about 90 percent of all vulvar cancers. Other types include vulvar melanoma and adenocarcinoma of the vulvar.
