Tumor Burning

Side Effects of Tumor Burning

Side effects are always possible when having any type of procedure. There is little research data to show the side effects of tumor burning. For the most part, side effects of tumor burning may exhibit the same characteristics as cryosurgery. Burning and/or freezing cancer cells or a tumor may expose the surrounding tissues to potential damage.

Based on the type of this type of non-surgical treatment involving the burning, the following side effects are possible:

  • Damage to surrounding tissue
  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Kidney and urinary system damage and complications.
  • Impotence in men if this procedure is performed on the prostate gland (more research is required to validate this).
