Tricuspid valve disease is a condition that affects the valve that regulates the flow of blood between the right upper chamber (atrium) and right lower chamber (ventricle) of the heart by opening and closing. If this valve is too narrow to open fully or is not able to close completely, blood may seep back up into the atrium or may not be pumped into the ventricle in adequate amounts. If untreated, tricuspid valve disease can cause heart failure.
