Emergency Services

Every year, Tampa Bay trusts the Emergency Room at Florida Hospital Tampa with more than 70,000 emergencies.

That's why we've invested $53 million to build a new state-of-the-art emergency room that's twice the size of our old ER, and reimagined a whole new way of delivering emergency care - where you see the doctor first. To learn more about our new Doc1stERSM process or the new state-of-the-art facility, visit

Our dedicated ER experts have the experience to provide the right care, right when you need it. We even have doctors and nurses with specialized training in emergency pediatric medicine who are experienced in treating routine and complex medical issues in children.

Experiencing chest pain? We are Tampa Bay’s first accredited Chest Pain Emergency Room, which means that we meet and exceed the guidelines set by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care for the gold standard in acute cardiac care.

We’re also one of the few AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration) accredited Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Tampa,
and the entire state of Florida, who are equipped to handle these time-sensitive critical emergencies.

If you have a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately. Then tell the emergency team, “Take me to Florida Hospital Tampa.”
