Every year, Tampa Bay trusts the Emergency Room at Florida Hospital Tampa with more than 100,000 emergencies.

That's why we invested over $53 million to build a state-of-the-art facility emergency room that's reimagined a whole new way of delivering emergency care - where you see the doctor first. To learn more about the Doc1stERSM process or the state-of-the-art facility, visit

Your children can also expect the Doc1stERSM experience with the opening of Doc1stERSM 4 Kids. This brand new emergency room, dedicated to pediatric emergency care, is designed with a child-friendly pirate-themed lobby and treatment rooms equipped with ambient lighting to make your child’s stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Our board certified staff and adoption of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital clinical protocols ensures that your children will have access to renowned pediatric care closer to home. Experiencing chest pain? We are Tampa Bay’s first accredited Chest Pain Emergency Room, which means that we meet and exceed the guidelines set by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care for the gold standard in acute cardiac care.

We’re also one of the few AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration) accredited Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Tampa,
and the entire state of Florida, who are equipped to handle these time-sensitive critical emergencies.

If you have a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately. Then tell the emergency team, “Take me to Florida Hospital Tampa.”
