Robot-Assisted Surgery

The Robotic Program at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills offers the da Vinci® Surgical System and the MAKO™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System.  These robotic systems provide our surgeons with advanced alternatives to traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy, resulting in added benefits to our patients over traditional surgery.

Specially trained and experienced surgeons operating at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills provide minimally invasive surgery with the help of robotic technology for general surgery, colorectal surgery and gynecology.

The da Vinci® Surgical System

With the help of the da Vinci® Surgical System, our surgeons control a magnified, 3D high definition system with robotic arms that can make more graceful, finer movements than any human hand.  The da Vinci® robot provides surgeons with enhanced vision, precision, dexterity and control, which enables surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery for numerous procedures including hernia repair, gallbladder removal, colon and hysterectomy surgery.

Patient Benefits of the da Vinci® System

  • Less pain
  • Faster recovery time
  • Lower risk of infection
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Less blood loss

MAKO™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery

Orthopedic surgeons at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills utilize the MAKO™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System for hip and knee resurfacing and total hip replacement. This system, with its computer imaging and intelligent instrumentation, gives surgeons the ability to precisely place a specially selected implant in the hip or knee.

If you’ve been diagnosed with osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip or knee, you may be a candidate for MAKO™. This innovative treatment option for adults living with early to mid-stage osteoarthritis is designed to relieve pain and restore range of motion.

MAKO™ gives surgeons the ability to resurface or replace your joint while sparing the healthy bone and ligaments surrounding the hip and knee.

Because the patient’s own natural bone and tissue is preserved, along with a more ideal, patient-specific implant positioning, the result is a more natural feeling hip and knee.
