Retroversion of the Uterus

Screening and Tests for Retroversion of the Uterus

Screening for retroversion of the uterus usually involves a pelvic examination, which can reveal the position of the uterus. It is worth noting, however, that a retroverted uterus can be mistaken for an enlarging fibroid or a pelvic mass, in which case a rectovaginal exam may be required to distinguish between a tipped uterus and a potentially more serious mass. And ultrasound can also be employed to determine the uterus’s position.
