Conditions Related to Preeclampsia

There are a number of related conditions to preeclampsia, including chronic hypertension, or persistent high blood pressure; gestational hypertension, or high blood pressure that develops after the pregnancy; and preeclampsia superimposed on chronic hypertension, which is preeclampsia that develops in a woman who already has chronic hypertension. Diabetes and kidney disease have also been linked as risk factors for preeclampsia.
