Pituitary Tumor

Screening and Tests for Pituitary Tumor

Screening for pituitary tumors will begin with a complete medical history and examination. After that, tests for pituitary tumors include: blood and urine tests for hormone levels; CT scans, which can provide detailed images of the brain; MRI tests, which also provide images of organs and structures inside the body; and a biopsy, in which tissue samples are removed for examination under a microscope to see of cancerous or abnormal cells are there.
