Among pineal parenchymal tumor patients, those with pineocytomas have the most favorable prognosis, with five-year survival rates of up to 90 percent in patients who have been treated with surgery and/or radiosurgery. For pineoblastoma patients, the five-year survival rate was 67 percent in one study, though it had a small sample size.
