Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor

Screening and Tests for Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor

Doctors go about diagnosing nerve sheath tumors in much the same way they do other tumors. For instance, imaging studies, such as an MRI, CT scan or PET scan, call allow them to view detailed images of any tumors that exist. If so, a biopsy may be performed, in which a sample of the tumor tissue is removed and microscopically analyzed to give doctors a better sense of what they’re dealing with and how pernicious the tumor may be.
