Pancreatic Cancer

Survivability of Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is very difficult to treat. As with any cancer, survival chances increase the earlier the cancer is detected. According to the American Cancer Society*, the one-year survival rate is estimated at 20% for all stages of pancreatic cancer.  The five-year survival rate is 37% if the disease is localized to the pancreas and 4% if the cancer has metastasized to other organs.
