Tests for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) may be ordered by the doctor based on the symptoms being experienced. A physical exam will include checking weight and size of the belly. Screening for OHSS may include:
- An ultrasound of the abdomen and vagina and a chest X-ray to shows the condition of organs and reveal fluid buildup.
- A complete blood analysis
- An electrolytes panel checking levels of calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, chloride and phosphorous
- A liver function test
- Measuring the output of urine
