The related conditions of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) involve factors that appear to contribute to OHSS, and those problems that arise out of the condition.
Although infertility does not cause OHSS, it could be identified as related to OHSS because it results from the use of reproductive drugs. Age is a factor as women under age 35 seem to be more susceptible. Very high levels of estrogen while receiving fertility treatments also contribute. Another related condition of OHSS is polycystic ovary syndrome, an imbalance of female sex hormones that can change the menstrual cycle, develop cysts in the ovaries and make becoming pregnant difficult.
