Mesothelioma Clinic Program

In part because of increased exposure to asbestos, malignant mesothelioma is not as uncommon as it once was. This is a form of cancer that begins in the mesothelial cells, which form a protective layer around organs so they can move around in the body without resistance.

The experts at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, one of the most renowned cancer facilities in the United States, are well equipped to diagnose mesothelioma. Once the condition has been identified, a coordinated, knowledgeable team of experts will devise a comprehensive treatment plan with the goal to provide our patients with the best possible outcomes. Throughout the treatment process, we provide all of our patients with the information they need to make informed health care decisions.

In addition, because of longstanding commitment to being on the forefront of cancer treatment, our patients may be offered access to groundbreaking clinical trials for new cancer treatments, therapies and techniques that are not yet available to the general public. These new procedures may offer new hope in combating mesothelioma.

The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute is accredited by several national cancer organizations for their quality, outcomes and comprehensive care. FHCI is accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (COC) and the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI). Most recently, our Clinical Research Center has been awarded a $2.1 million grant from the National Cancer Institute’s Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP), allowing FHCI access to NCI’s prevention, control and treatment trials for cancer treatment and prevention.
