Statistics of Omphalocele

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tell us that about 775 babies are born with an omphalocele in the United States each year—about one in every 5,386 babies. Between 25 and 40 percent of babies also have other birth defects, such as chromosomal abnormalities, heart defects or neural tube defects.
