Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Our Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program offers hope to individuals battling respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, persistent asthma, bronchiectasis, fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension and lung cancer, as well as patients recovering from lung surgery. While in our rehabilitation program, patients can expect to see some subtle and not-so-subtle improvements: your bouts of shortness of breath will be less frequent and intense, your blood will better supply oxygen to your body and you should notice an increase in strength and flexibility.

Those improvements will mean less time in the hospital and more time for you to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle with family and friends. What’s more, you’ll think more quickly and clearly, and your self-esteem and attitude will improve.

Our goal in the Outpatient Recovery Program is to help each of our patients become healthier and more active, increase his or her quality of life and maintain his or her lung function. We improve and maintain lung function by combining exercise training and education, and work to improve each patient’s physical and psychological sense of well-being.

Pulmonary rehab is vital to helping patients get well, and at Florida Hospital North Pinellas we’re dedicated to making our rehabilitation services as convenient as possible. To accommodate our patients’ schedules, we offer same-day appointments that allow patients to receive treatments and return home as quickly as possible. Our services are covered by most insurance companies as well.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your eligibility for the program, please contact us today ay (727) 942-5033.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

For patients who’ve recently suffered a heart attack or undergone cardiac surgery, our Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is there to help throughout the healing process. We effectively and efficiently transition participants back into their daily lives, and provide them with a toolkit that enables them to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Ours is a fully accredited outpatient cardiac rehab program serving Pinellas and Pasco counties. Throughout our eight-to-12-week program, our patients receive personalized, individualized care that seeks to address their unique needs. Our team leads all of our patients through a closely monitored exercise program and educates them on ways to continue reduce their cardiac risks and managing their medications. We also assist patients with weight-loss goals, cholesterol management, blood pressure control, stress reduction and maintaining heart-healthy diets, as well as provide support to help patients stop smoking.

Other benefits of our Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program include:

  • Improved ability to sleep
  • Stronger bones
