Sports Medicine Physician Joins Florida Hospital Flagler

PALM COAST, Fla., December 9, 2015 – Sports medicine physician Dr. Sonia Millan has joined the Flagler Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practice and will be on the Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners medical staff at Florida Hospital Flagler.
 
Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners is Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler’s employed group of physicians that includes both primary care physicians and specialists. Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners consists of more than 150 physicians and enjoys a mutual partnership with Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler based upon the close alignment of the hospitals’ mission and values. 
 
Millan is board certified in family medicine. She earned a medical degree from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, where she also completed her residency in family medicine. She went on to undergo a sports medicine fellowship at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach. 
 
As a proponent of exercise as medicine and a long-time athlete herself, Millan strongly promotes physical activity and a healthy lifestyle in her new practice at Florida Hospital Flagler.  She focuses on keeping her patients as active as possible for as long as possible. Her services include sports physicals; joint injections; managing simple fractures; caring for acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries; and treating overuse injuries, such as shin splints, stress fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow and various forms of tendinitis.
 
Her primary office is located at Florida Hospital Flagler’s Parkway Medical Plaza at 120 Cypress Edge Drive, Ste. 208, and her secondary office is located adjacent to the hospital in Town Center Medical, 21 Hospital Drive, Ste. 110.
