Resident’s Birthday Party Raises Funds for Florida Hospital HospiceCare

May 28, 2014 – Pam Goulder’s birthday party this year celebrated more than just an extra candle on her birthday cake. With the help of her friends and family, the Daytona Beach resident celebrated her birthday by donating nearly $2,000 for Florida Hospital HospiceCare.
“For my birthday this year, a dear person threw me a wonderful birthday party,” Goulder said. “Since I don’t need or want anything, I asked that people make a donation to HospiceCare in lieu of gifts.”
Those donations from Goulder’s birthday raised enough funds for Florida Hospital HospiceCare to purchase customized blankets for 100 patients.
“Patients and their families in HospiceCare are often experiencing sadness and can be challenged by the experience of loss. During these times, it is helpful to have something to hold and bring them comfort, like these blankets,” said Diane Trask, Florida Hospital HospiceCare community liaison. “We are so grateful for the lovely donation Pam and her friends made, as it will truly bring comfort to patients and their families during a time of need.”
