General Surgeon Joins Florida Hospital’s Employed Physician Group

PALM COAST, Fla., October 29, 2018 – General surgeon Dr. Farhaad Golkar has joined the Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners medical staff at Florida Hospital Flagler.

Golkar has served the communities of Palm Coast, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna Beach for three years and now joins Florida Hospital’s employed physician group, Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners.

Golkar earned a Bachelor of Arts in computer science from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

At the University of South Florida in Tampa, he received his medical degree and completed his general surgery internship and residency. He also completed a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB)/Advanced Laparoscopic GI Surgery Fellowship at the University of South Florida, performing complex minimally invasive procedures on the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and the bile ducts.

Golkar is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is also a certified HPB surgeon by the Americas Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association.

He is a published author in several medical journals, including the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and The American Journal of Surgery.

He is an active member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the Americas Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association (AHPBA). He is also an active member and fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

In his new practice at Florida Hospital Flagler, Golkar will perform advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, including hernia repairs, anti-reflux surgery and gastrointestinal/colon cancer surgery. He will also operate on the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts.

His office is located inside Florida Hospital Flagler at 61 Memorial Medical Pkwy., Suite 3806, Palm Coast. His practice accepts most insurance plans and can be reached at 386-206-5986.
