Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is being recognized for earning the platinum level for its worksite wellness program by the American Heart Association. The hospital is among 109 worksites in Tampa Bay honored for integrating healthy living into the workplace. Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is one of only 12 of those worksites that reached platinum level.
“Our employees are our most valuable resource and their well-being is imperative to us fulfilling our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ both to our patients and our community,” said Casio Jones, Director of the Wellness Center. “Creating a work environment that supports a healthy culture is our focus as we grow our wellness programs.”
In 2014, the worksite wellness program at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills rewarded its employees with over $350,000 in health incentives including rewarding employees and their benefit-eligible dependents for not using tobacco, being physically active, being in healthy body fat range, and losing body fat. They also help support these changes with an onsite wellness center, in-person life coaching services, monthly tobacco cessation, and a MyZone exercise tracker that monitors employees’ physical activity levels.
