Florida Hospital Waterman Foundation raises nearly $100,000 for hospital ER
Donations from Annual Gala help support hospital ER
TAVARES, Fla. (June 18, 2014) – The Florida Hospital Waterman Foundation’s 5th Annual Celebration of Life Gala brought together 176 attendees who enjoyed an evening of dining, a silent and live auctions and entertainment by the band, Hot Property. The Gala raised $97,942 to support the Florida Hospital Waterman Emergency Department.
“Each year we hold a number of events to help raise funds to support the health of our community,” said Anita Young, Florida Hospital Waterman Foundation President. “This event is one of our largest, and it brings awareness to the importance of the safe, compassionate and quality care our patients and families can rely on in their time of need. This year the net proceeds will support upgrades in our Emergency Department, which touches the lives of nearly 60,000 patients annually.”
“It’s so refreshing to see so much support for the foundation and the hospital” said Lynda Comfort, Florida Hospital Waterman Board Member.
The Foundation provides funding for programs and services at Florida Hospital Waterman including the open heart program, the Community Clinic, mission trips, and cancer care services.
Next year’s, 6th Annual Celebration of Life Gala will be Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Westin in Lake Mary featuring Orlando-based a cappella group VoicePlay. VoicePlay competed on the TV show "The Sing-Off" in December 2013 and recreates the orchestrated sound of an entire musical production with nothing but the human voice.
