Florida Hospital Peninsula Rehabilitation Names New Lead Speech-Language Pathologist

ORMOND BEACH, Fla., June 13, 2014 – Deborah Zahn has been selected to serve as a lead speech-language pathologist at Florida Hospital Peninsula Rehabilitation.  
In this new role, Zahn will be responsible for assisting the inpatient rehabilitation manager with the daily operations at Florida Hospital Peninsula Rehabilitation, located at Florida Hospital Oceanside, 264 S. Atlantic Ave., Ormond Beach.  
Zahn, an Ormond Beach resident, has 13 years of experience and has been with Florida Hospital for the last two years. In her most recent role as a staff speech-language pathologist, she was responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and treating speech, language, voice, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders at Florida Hospital Peninsula Rehabilitation.
Florida Hospital Peninsula Rehabilitation is a licensed, in-patient, comprehensive medical rehabilitation facility in Ormond Beach and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) with stroke certification. Not only does the facility specialize in the medical treatment and rehabilitation of stroke patients, but it also cares for patients with multiple trauma injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries and for those recovering from orthopedic surgery.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Zahn received her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. 
She is a member of the Florida Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and is a certified Vital Stim Therapy Provider, as well as a certified Lee Silverman Voice Therapy Provider. Zahn also holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
