PALM COAST, Fla., March 27, 2017 — On March 22, Palm Coast-based event planning and management company Divine Events donated more than $4,000 to the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center at Florida Hospital Flagler.
The funds were raised via a black tie gala on Feb. 4 to honor the late Gloria Samuels Tobin at the Hilton Garden Inn. Tobin was a Palm Coast resident and beloved mother of six children and battled breast cancer.
Michele Gordon, Tobin’s youngest daughter and the owner of Divine Events, worked with her siblings to host the sellout fundraiser to benefit the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center.
Gordon began this event in 2016, and this year, Trend Hair Salon and Hollywood Athletics supported her in this cause.
“We are honored and proud to continue to support the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center and the wonderful benefit this is to the women in our community,” Gordon said. “I am so thankful to all those who helped us raise this money, believe in our cause and supported our event.”
Any cancer patient can visit the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center, located on the first floor of Florida Hospital Flagler in the Cancer Center.
Florida Hospital Flagler opened the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center in February 2010. It offers an extensive collection of books, brochures, articles and videotapes about cancer. Cancer patients and their families, and community members, such as health professionals, students, and teachers are welcome to use all of the library's free services. In addition, cancer patients can receive wigs, head coverings, mastectomy bras and prostheses, all free of charge.
