Community Partners Provide Free Sports Physicals

Volunteers, physicians and specialists gathered for a group photo on Saturday morning, May 20, at Pasco High School in Dade City, before students packed the cafeteria and library for free sports physicals. The community event was organized by Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ) with support from many other community partners. In total, 216 East Pasco students ranging from elementary age to high school were able to have sports physicals during the three-hour timeframe, said Brett Uravich, FHZ Physician Liaison and event organizer.

Volunteering to do physicals from Florida Hospital Physician Group (FHPG) Prompt Care in Dade City were Danielle Albritton, DO; Tobin John, MD; Jayapriya Raj, MD; and Terri Jones, ARNP. Sue Hinds, ARNP, from Wee Care Clinic in Zephyrhills and Binu Jacob, MD, with Pasco Cardiology Associates, also performed physicals. Hearing tests were done by Brett Scotch, DO, with the Institute of Ear, Nose and Throat in Wesley Chapel; eye exams by representatives from The Eye Clinic of Florida, Zephyrhills; orthopedics by PT Solutions in Zephyrhills, Joel Knickerbocker, PT, with Pasco Rehabilitation in Dade City and athletic trainers Stephanie Bosiello and Jonathon Mendres; and blood pressure checks by student nurses from Everest University under the supervision of Jackie VanHorn, RN, instructor. Numerous clinical and non-clinical staff from FHZ, FHPG and other medical providers’ offices mentioned also assisted.
