Surgical Oncology

  • Mammotome Stereotactic Breast Biopsy: Considered to be the least invasive technique of evaluating a breast tissue sample, this procedure is used following a diagnostic mammogram that identifies an abnormal area. A hollow needle is used to acquire tissue samples for prompt evaluation by the laboratory while the patient is still in the facility.
  • Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy: This method of identifying potential tumors involves injecting dye to isolate lymph nodes at risk for metastasis. In certain cases, the procedure is used for patients with melanoma, breast and colon cancer to reduce the need for excising larger quantities of lymph nodes.

Radiation Oncology

This service provides radiation therapy as the primary treatment course or in conjunction with surgery and/or chemotherapy. New patient consultations, follow-up examinations and office visits are also conducted within the department in special consultation areas.

  • Linear Accelerator: This state-of-the-art equipment delivers radiation to a carefully mapped-out area to destroy cancer cells. Treatments are quick, efficient and precise to minimize side effects. All of our staff members are licensed with years of experience with radiation therapy.
