Survivability of Menopause

The survivability of menopause is very high since it is not a life-threatening condition. Women usually experience symptoms as their bodies adjust to change, but menopause is considered complete a year after the woman’s final menstrual period.

The long-term prognosis for women includes follow-up appointments to monitor nutrition and routine screening since menopause can increase patient’s risk of developing serious conditions, such as heart disease and osteoporosis. Patients who undergo hormone therapy may require further treatment.
