Tumors of the meninges tens to grow slowly, so symptoms of meningioma begin very gradually and can be quite subtle, at least at first. The symptoms may depend on the area of the brain or spinal cord where the tumor is located, and can include:
- Vision or hearing loss
- Trouble thinking clearly or memory loss
- Trouble walking
- Loss of smell
- Weakness in an arm or leg
- Headaches that worsen over time
In some cases, a meningioma can require emergency care. Please seek emergency care if your symptoms include a sudden onset of seizures or changes to your vision or memory.
