Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center is the only facility in the area to be designated a Center of Excellence in Woman’s Health Surgeries by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (AIMIS).
AIMIS is the nation’s pre-eminent educator of advanced surgical techniques for women’s health specialists, and earning this designation is a tremendous benefit to women in our community.
Earning this distinction means that Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has not only met AIMIS’ stringent standards, but has also dedicated itself to advanced education for minimally invasive procedures. Our physicians and surgical services team are raising the standard of health care for women by providing the highest level of treatment through best practice standards and improving patient outcomes with advanced surgical techniques.
This distinction signifies that our physicians and surgical team have not only met AIMIS’ stringent standards, but are raising the bar for women’s health care, improving patient outcomes and providing the highest level of treatment using advanced surgical techniques.
Dr. Julie Schneider, with Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s HealthCare Partners, is board certified in gynecology and offers minimally invasive surgery, as well as non-surgical treatment options for women’s health conditions. Furthermore, Dr. Schneider recently became one of the first physicians to be board-certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Additionally, all four of the Volusia OB/GYN physicians who practice at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center are certified by the AIMIS. These physicians are the only AIMIS-certified physicians in Volusia and Flagler counties. They include Dr. Meetesh Desai, Dr. Ted Robertson, and Dr. Cecille Tapia-Santiago, who is also the Medical Director for the BirthCare Center at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.
