Outpatient Rehabilitation

Outpatient Rehabilitation

Our goal at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Outpatient Rehabilitation Services is to assist in restoring the health and quality of life of those we serve. The process enables our patients to achieve the optimal physical, emotional, and spiritual outcome while recovering from an injury or illness. Our team of health care professionals has developed a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation, a process that has received the enthusiastic support of so many rehabilitation patients in the community.

Our team of highly skilled therapists are trained in the most current practices and will assist you in reaching your full potential.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy focuses on helping patients improve strength, endurance, walking, balance, flexibility, and posture. Many therapists have advanced education and specialize in treating dizziness, neurological, musculoskeletal, lymphedema, or Women’s Health issues.  Physical Therapists utilize manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, and various modalities to restore function, reduce pain, and improve quality of life.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy focuses on improving the patients “activities of daily living” such as bathing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, dressing, fine motor skills, and managing a home.  Occupational Therapists concentrate on conditions that are physically and mentally disabling.  They teach compensatory techniques for permanent disability and home safety modifications.  Hand, wrist, and shoulder injuries/surgeries are addressed with manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, and modalities.

Speech Therapy

Speech and Language Pathologists specialize in assessing and treating issues related to speaking, swallowing, memory, and cognition.  They perform Modified Barium Swallow tests to assess swallowing issues.  Speech Pathologists perform oral motor strengthening, cognitive retraining, electrical stimulation, and manual techniques to improve function and quality of life.  Some therapists have additional training in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD therapy and work with Parkinson’s patients to improve vocal loudness and voice quality.

Most insurances recognize and pay for therapy services with a Physician’s prescription.  Our team of professionals will verify your insurance for coverage.
