DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 26, 2013 – On Friday, November 1, the Florida Hospital Memorial Foundation hosted its fourth annual golf tournament at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.
This sold out scramble-format golf tournament raised more than $100,000 to benefit Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as the development of a Level II Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
In addition to registration fees, each team had an option to donate $100 to fund a mammogram for local women in-need, and in doing so, received two strokes off their score. The Tracy Dillion Mammogram Fundraisers graciously matched the $2,800 raised by the golfers, enabling Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center to provide 56 sponsored mammograms.
"This is a tremendous gesture by the community and I was so proud to be a part of it,” said Daryl Tol, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center CEO. “Support from the community is vital to our organization and we are extremely grateful.”
Thirty-six teams of golfers participated in this annual event. With a score of 56, the winning team representing Carter Electric, consisted of Bob Bragg, Gary Dover, Roy Gailey and Wake Gailey. Additionally, Angel Colon from Robins and Morton scored a hole-in-one on the par three third hole and won $10,000.
