ORMOND BEACH, Fla., October 4, 2013 – On October 2, Florida Hospital Care Advantage celebrated the grand opening of their new retail sales office, located at 1425 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
“This partnership between Florida Hospital and Health First pulls two strong systems together to create something even stronger,” said Daryl Tol, Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler CEO, at the ribbon cutting ceremony. “In Volusia and Flagler counties, 60 percent of patients already choose to receive their care at one of our Florida Hospital locations. That means that the majority of residents already rely on us. Across the market, this partnership will make healthcare easier to both access and navigate.”
At this 1,200 square-foot sales office, community members can learn more about the two plans that are available through Florida Hospital Care Advantage and compare them with Medicare in a friendly and comfortable environment.
The two Florida Hospital Care Advantage plans will provide an integrated health delivery system, with no referrals to see a specialist, and will help improve the overall healthcare delivery provided to the community. The office is currently open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and applications for official enrollment will begin on October 15.
“By taking the proven experience, quality, and valuable benefits Health First Health Plans has shown for more than 15 years—and combining with the well-respected and trusted name of Florida Hospital—we will be able to provide the high-quality care that the residents of Volusia and Flagler counties have come to know at Florida Hospital,” said Steve Johnson, Health First President & CEO.
In September, Florida Hospital Healthcare System (FHHS), Florida Hospital’s administrator for employee health insurance, and Health First Health Plans of Brevard County, Fla., embarked on a new partnership to provide health insurance offerings across 10 counties from Tampa to Orlando and Daytona Beach and throughout Central Florida. The organizations joined forces to develop Florida Hospital Care Advantage, which will provide health insurance products to Medicare and commercial patients, giving them access to world-class medical professionals.
As announced in January 2013, the FHHS and Health First team will pilot its first product in Volusia and Flagler counties. Florida Hospital Care Advantage, administered by Health First, will roll out in January 2014 with the five Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties providing infrastructure, as well as quality clinical and physician support for the plan.
Health First Health Plans brings more than 15 years of experience, a 4.5 Star Medicare Advantage Rating and more than 60,000 members to the partnership and will manage the operational responsibilities of the plan.
As the FHHS and Health First Health Plans partnership matures, future insurance products could be created for residents of the Metro Orlando and Tampa areas.
