Biographical Sketch for Rene Santin, MD
Board certified in pediatrics and neonatology, Dr. Santin has more than 15 years of experience in pediatric and neonatal care. His focus is on the care, development and diseases of newborn babies.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Santin’s previous experience includes a Level II NICU in Eastern Kentucky. Dr. Santin fulfilled his fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and his residency in pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. He completed a pediatric internship at the National Institute of Pediatrics in Mexico and earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dr. Santin has led research focused on respiratory issues with newborn babies, including ventilation methods and the neurodevelopment of infants with apnea. He also spent time as a pediatric advanced life support instructor and neonatal resuscitation program instructor.
A valued member of the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and HealthCare Partners family, Dr. Santin is active in hospital activities and community outreach efforts. Most notably, he has ventured on the hospital’s annual mission trip, providing medical treatment and assistance with Spanish translations in Fortaleza, Brazil.
