Community Benefits

Community Benefit Report

As a member of Adventist Health System, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center operates as a not-for-profit organization focused on improving the health of the community it serves. Every three years we conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment to determine the major needs in our area. This data is then used to develop a Community Health Plan to improve residents’ health through education, research, financial assistance, special clinical and non-clinical programs, and the provision of spiritual resources. These services, referred to as community benefits, are offered without regard to profit. Their sole purpose is to strengthen the well-being of the community and to aid vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and underprivileged.

For an effort to be considered a community benefit, an activity must address a need documented in the assessment and have at least one of these objectives:

  • Improve access to health care services
  • Enhance the health of the community
  • Advance medical or health care knowledge
  • Relieve or reduce the burden of government

As a faith based, not for profit organization, it is important to re-invest in our facilities, staff and technology to better care for our community.

At Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, we do this with careful stewardship of our resources. We are a financially strong, well-managed, COMPASSIONATE institution that achieves superior patient satisfaction, safety and quality ratings.
We meet your safety expectations through our mission and goals, with regular validation of our success by prestigious national quality and ratings organizations, the State of Florida and, most importantly, our patients.
