It’s never too early to learn how to prevent heart disease and heart attacks. In fact, the Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute and the American Heart Association recommend beginning the process at age 20. You can start by knowing your risk factors and getting up to speed on the symptoms and warning signs of a heart attack.
Did you know that the symptoms of heart disease can be different in men and women? Plus, more women than men die each year from heart disease, and 90 percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease. The good news is that many of these factors can be mediated by making some lifestyle changes.

Advanced Operating Facilities and Procedures
Our Endovascular/ Hybrid Operating Room allows our team to integrate digital imaging diagnostics, radiological, catheterization and surgical capabilities all within a single operating suite. Patients no longer have to be relocated to various areas throughout the hospital for different treatment needs; they spend less time in surgery, recover with less pain and complications, and return home more quickly. Between our hybrid OR and three other state-of-the-art cardiac operating rooms, cardiovascular surgeons perform a broad range of minimally invasive and open procedures, such as:
- Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG)
- Mitral valve repair and replacement
- Aortic valve replacement and repair
- Transmyocardial revascularization (TMR) procedure
- Irregular heart rhythms treatment, including atrial fibrillation
- Various thoracic and vascular surgical procedures
- Endovascular procedures
Our advanced facilities and expertise allow us to perform a wide array of life-saving cardiac catheterization procedures, including:
- Coronary “balloon” angioplasty, artherectomy and stent implantation
- Electrophysiology studies
- A-V nodal ablations
- AFib ablation (Pulmonary vein isolation)
- Intravascular ultrasound
- Peripheral vascular disease studies and treatment
- Pacemakers and Internal Cardiac Defibrillators
