Living with Cancer
Whether you’re a patient, survivor or caregiver, this is your opportunity to talk about the day-to-day challenges of living with cancer in a group of people who can inspire, relate to and support you along your journey. This group meets on the third Thursday of every month from 3 to 4 pm in the chapel. Registration is not required.
Look Good, Feel Better
Women undergoing cancer treatments can still feel comfortable with the way they look. During this session, our trained cosmetologists teach female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society, this group meets on the first Monday of every other month from 1 to 3 pm in the conference room. Registration is required. For registration and more information, call 1(800) ACS-2345 or 1(800) 227-2345.
Breast Cancer Support Group
When the diagnosis of breast cancer is given, you may be in need of information, resources and support to meet the challenges you face. Join breast cancer patients and survivors for support and encouragement throughout your journey with cancer. Speakers will be scheduled for every other month. This group meets on the second Monday of every month from 4 to 6 pm in the conference room. Registration is not required.
Lung Cancer Support Group
If you’ve been diagnosed with lung cancer, you might have physical needs and emotional concerns distinct from other cancer patients. Our lung cancer support group is the only one of its kind in Volusia and Flagler counties. The Cancer Institute is here to provide a safe and open environment to share your experiences and struggles. We will connect you with local and national resources to aid during your time of need. This group meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 2 to 4 pm in the chapel. Registration is not required.
