Screening and Tests for Malunion

Screening for malunion often begins with a medical history, including any previous fractures that may or may not have been treated and a list of symptoms, and a physical exam, which can reveal the deformity of a malunion. Imaging tests such as an x-ray, bone scan, CT scan or MRI may also assist with the diagnosis.
