Hormonal Therapy

Survivability of Hormonal Therapy

In both the cases of prostate cancer and breast cancer, the patient’s prognosis will depend on many factors, including the type of tumor, its location and how far it has spread before diagnosis. Hormonal therapy has proven effective in many cases. In about 85 to 90 percent of prostate cancer cases in which hormonal therapy is used, for example, the treatment can shrink the tumors or slow the cancer’s progression, though it does not obliterate the disease. However, each case will be different, so cancer patients considering hormonal therapy should talk to their doctor about their chances of surviving their disease.
