Conditions Related to Heart PET Scan

A heart PET scan is recognized as a highly accurate test to detect any functional issues that are affecting the heart and valves. Radiologists are specialized in performing a PET scan that may identify heart and valve conditions that require further treatment. Related conditions that a heart PET scan is used to detect include:
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart failure
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Blockage of arteries
Results are provided to the patient’s cardiologist, who will determine an appropriate treatment plan if the test returns any abnormal findings.
